Costa Rica – The Blessed Country

If you have decided to visit Costa Rica, you have to know that nature can offer you here an unbelievable sensation and image through its amazing volcanoes. These volcanoes, in number of over 110, represent another attraction of the country, over 10 of them still being active. In the province of Cartago, not far from the San Jose capital, you will find the Irazu volcano, the highest in the country, which erupted last time in early 1960. The Poas volcano, located in the province of Alajuela, has one of the biggest active craters in the world.
To continue with, the Arenal volcano, in the northwest of the country, annually attracts thousands of visitors who come for the unique show of the incandescent rocks thrown in the air or of the flow of lava, which often pours over the crater edges. The Arenal area is also famous for the thermal springs with curative properties, the best known being undoubtedly those from Tabacon.
Add to these tropical beaches with fine sand from the Guanacaste province, the kitchen based on tropical fruits and seafood, the coffee considered the tastiest in the world. You can consider as well the golden pineapple, the sweetest pineapple in the world, the well-known beauty of women, the hospitality of this country’s natives and you will understand why Costa Rica is known as “The Blessed Country”. In addition, you will know why the usual greeting between the natives of this country is “Pura Vida” (real life).
Points of Interest
San Jose, a city that may seem at first sight chaotic and crowded, is for the tourism in Costa Rica more a point of leaving for circuits or for tours for a day, an offer which is extremely varied that attracts you with each touristic point or hotel.
Nevertheless, the city preserves a warm and welcoming air, and the most important touristic objectives are the National Theater, the Cathedral, the Gold Museum, the Jade Museum, and the National Museum. San Jose is also a city with a riotous nightlife, and if you want to have fun, San Jose is a destination where you will always find something attractive. You can visit the gardens with cascades La Paz, the Poas and Doka volcano, extremely exotic places that you can meet as soon as you reach the Costa Rica paradise.
Here you will also find the Tamarindo Sanctuary, almost 400 hectares of Mangrove forests and tropical forests with a rich and diverse fauna, among which we can mention dozens of species of birds and three species of monkeys, specific to this region. This is a “wild” destination and unique at the same time, due to the mix between tropical forest, with fine sand beaches and bays with crystalline water.
You can enjoy the beaches with fine sand and water suitable for swimming, surfing or diving, active volcanoes, tropical forests, real natural mazes. Eco-tourism is a specialty of the house in Costa Rica. You can easily move within the country by cheap flights, bus, or car to rent in safe, because the locals are welcoming and friendly.
